Stamps Puzzle Details:

About: One of the world's most popular hobbies since the late nineteenth century, stamp collecting, is the collecting of postage stamps and related objects. The first postage stamp, the Penny Black, was issued by Britain in May 1840 and pictured a young Queen Victoria. Although stamp collecting is a less popular hobby in the 21st century than it was a hundred years ago there are still thousands of organizations for collectors: local stamp clubs, special-interest groups, and national organizations. Many collectors limit their collecting to particular countries, certain time periods or particular subjects (called "topicals") like birds, aircraft, people, ships, insects, etc. Solve today's puzzle and put the colorful postage stamps back together as fast as you can and get your time on our leader boards. Have fun!

Old Pocket Watch Play

Old Pocket Watch

A pocket watch (or pocketwatch) is a watch that is made to be carried in a pocket, as opposed to a wristwatch, which is strapped to the wrist. There are two main styles of pocket watch, the hunter-case pocket watch, and the open-face pocket watch. An open-faced, or Lepine, watch, is one in which the case lacks a metal cover to protect the crystal. A hunter-case pocket watch is a case with a spring-hinged circular metal lid or cover, that closes over the watch-dial and crystal, protecting them from dust, scratches and other damage or debris. Up until the start of the 20th century, the pocket watch was predominant and the wristwatch was considered feminine and unmanly.
Dubrovnik Old Town Play

Dubrovnik Old Town

Dubrovnik is the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea, a seaport and the centre of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The names Dubrovnik and Ragusa co-existed for several centuries. Ragusa, recorded in various forms since at least the 10th century, remained the official name of the Republic of Ragusa until 1808, and of the city within the Kingdom of Dalmatia until 1918, while Dubrovnik, first recorded in the late 12th century, was in widespread use by the late 16th or early 17th century. According to Constantine Porphyrogenitus's De Administrando Imperio (c. 950), Ragusa was founded in the 7th century, named for a "rocky island" called Lausa, by refugees from Epidaurum (Ragusa Vecchia), a Greek city situated some 15 km to the south, when that city was destroyed in the Slavic incursions. The city boasts of many old buildings, such as the Arboretum Trsteno, the oldest arboretum in the world, dating back to before 1492. Also, the third oldest European pharmacy is located in the city, which dates back to 1317. A feature of Dubrovnik is its walls that run almost 2 kilometers around the city. The system of turrets and towers were intended to protect the vulnerable city. The walls of Dubrovnik have also been a popular filming location for the fictional city of King's Landing in the HBO television series, Game of Thrones.

Lawn Mower

It's time to mow the lawn. So grab the lawn mower and let's go. The first lawn mower was invented by Edwin Budding in 1827 in Thrupp, just outside Stroud, in Gloucestershire. Budding's mower was designed primarily to cut the grass on sports grounds and extensive gardens. It took ten more years and further innovations to create a machine that could be drawn by animals, and sixty years before a steam-powered lawn mower was built. Modern rotary push mowers are powered by internal combustion engines or electricity. Corded electric mowers are limited in range by their trailing power cord, which may limit their use with lawns. While considered antiquated in modern times, the original type of push-powered reel mowers are still available.

Tailors also use chalk to make temporary markings on cloth.
