About: In this fun puzzle we're visiting the impressive Mount Rushmore National Memorial in Keystone, South Dakota in the United States. At first, the project of carving Rushmore was undertaken to increase tourism in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. After long negotiations involving a Congressional delegation and President Calvin Coolidge, the project received Congressional approval. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum created the sculpture's design (featuring the heads of four United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln) and oversaw the project's execution from 1927 to 1941. The memorial is carved on the northwest margin of the Black Elk Peak granite batholith in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Mount Rushmore is the state's top tourist attraction.
