Red And Blue Wooden Boat

Red And Blue Wooden Boat

Start today's new puzzle, jump aboard the red and blue wooden boat featured in this fun new game and let's go for a relaxing boat ride. Until the mid-19th century most boats were made of natural materials, primarily wood, although reed, bark and animal skins were also used. By the mid-19th century, many boats had been built with iron or steel frames but still planked in wood. By the 1930s boats built entirely of steel from frames to plating were seen replacing wooden boats in many industrial uses and fishing fleets. Around the mid-1960s, boats made of fiberglass (glass-reinforced plastic) became popular, especially for recreational boats.

Motorcycles are one of the most affordable forms of motorised transport in many parts of the world and, for most of the world's population, they are also the most common type of motor vehicle. The first internal combustion, petroleum fueled motorcycle was the Petroleum Reitwagen. It was designed and built by the German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Bad Cannstatt, Germany in 1885. There are three major types of motorcycle: street, off-road, and dual purpose.

Vintage Pocket Watch And Pearl Necklace

Vintage Pocket Watch And Pearl Necklace

These type of watches were the most common type of watch from their development in the 16th century until wristwatches became popular after World War I. Pocket watches generally have an attached chain to allow them to be secured to a lapel, waistcoat, or belt loop, and to prevent them from being dropped. There are two main styles of pocket watch, the hunter-case pocket watch and the open-face pocket watch. An open-faced, or Lepine watch, is one in which the case lacks a metal cover to protect the crystal - like the one in this fun new jigsaw puzzle. A hunter-case pocket watch is a case with a spring-hinged circular metal lid or cover, that closes over the watch-dial and crystal, protecting them from dust, scratches and other damage. Now that you know a bit more about these types of time pieces click start and enjoy today's challenge. Have fun!
Freshly Roasted Coffee Beans

Freshly Roasted Coffee Beans

According to popular legend, the coffee plant was discovered in Ethiopia by a goatherd named Kaldi. When the fruit is ripe, it is almost always handpicked. Two methods are primarily used to process coffee berries. The first, "wet" or "washed" process, has historically usually been carried out in Central America and areas of Africa. The flesh of the cherries is separated from the seeds and then the seeds are fermented – soaked in water for about two days. The "dry processing" method, cheaper and simpler, was historically used for lower-quality beans in Brazil and much of Africa, but now brings a premium when done well. The roasting process is what produces the characteristic flavor of coffee by causing the green coffee beans to change in taste. The first recorded implements for roasting coffee beans were thin pans made from metal or porcelain, used in the 15th century in the Ottoman Empire and Greater Persia. In today's puzzle we feature some freshly roasted coffee beans in a heart shaped bowl.

Today we're going to Lisbon. The Glória Funicular (Portuguese: Ascensor da Glória), is a funicular railway line in the civil parish of Santo António, in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. Although commonly described as a funicular, technically it does not qualify as the traction is not provided by the cable but by electric motors. The tram system is situated in an urban area, along an axis that slopes 17.7%, that extends from the Avenida da Liberdade to the Rua de São Pedro de Alcântara, crossing a built-up area of 19th century buildings, including the Palácio Foz and the Misericórdia of Lisboa.
