Green Plants

Green plants obtain most of their energy from sunlight via photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is largely responsible for producing and maintaining the oxygen content of the Earth's atmosphere, and supplies most of the energy necessary for life on Earth. The green color of plants comes from chlorophyll, the green pigments that allow plants to absorb energy from light.

Euro Coins

If you didn't know, The euro came into existence on 1 January 1999 and there are eight euro coin denominations, ranging from one cent to two euros (1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, 1 and 2 euro). They have a common reverse, portraying a map of Europe, but each country in the eurozone has its own design on the obverse, which means that each coin has a variety of different designs in circulation at once.

A View of Mount Vernon

If you didn't already know, Mount Vernon is an American landmark and former plantation of George Washington, the first president of the United States. It is located on the banks of the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia. It is named after Vice Admiral Edward Vernon, who had been Lawrence Washington's (Washington's older half-brother) commanding officer.

In this new puzzle we feature a brightly colored butterfly resting on a green leaf. Butterflies are important as pollinators for some species of plants. They feed primarily on nectar from flowers, but also derive nourishment from pollen, rotting fruit, tree sap, and dissolved minerals in wet sand or dirt. Nearly all butterflies are diurnal and have relatively bright colors.

Garden Croton

Garden croton, fire croton or variegated croton is native to Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and the western Pacific Ocean islands, growing in open forests and scrub.
