About: If you didn't already know, Mount Vernon is an American landmark and former plantation of George Washington, the first president of the United States. It is located on the banks of the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia. It is named after Vice Admiral Edward Vernon, who had been Lawrence Washington's (Washington's older half-brother) commanding officer.
