Pink Silk Trees

The pink silk tree, Persian silk tree, or mimosa tree, is a small deciduous tree with a broad crown of level or arching branches native to southwestern and eastern Asia. It is widely planted as an ornamental plant in parks and gardens. It's flowers bloom throughout the summer in dense inflorescences, which resemble starbursts of pink silky threads.

Nine Arch Bridge

Today we're going to Sri Lanka to see the Nine Arch Bridge, also called the Bridge in the Sky, a colonial-era railway viaduct bridge. It is located in Demodara, between Ella and Demodara railway stations. The bridge was finished in 1921 and it was built entirely out of brick, rock and cement, no steel was used in any of it's structures.

The Belvedere Tower

Today we're visiting the Belvedere Tower in the Maloja Pass, Bregaglia Valley, Engadine, Canton of Graubunden, Switzerland. The "Torre Belvedere" is a 24-meter-high observation tower. It's built out of stone and it has an internal 112 step staircase. The viewing platform is located at a height of 22.5 meters and it offers a view of the Upper Engadine and Bergell alpine valleys.
