About: Glenfinnan is a hamlet in Lochaber area of the Highlands of Scotland. In 1745 the Jacobite rising began here on the shores of Loch Shiel. Seventy years later, the 18 m (60 ft) Glenfinnan Monument, at the head of the loch, was erected to commemorate the historic event. The tower was designed by the Scottish architect James Gillespie Graham. In this fun new puzzle we feature the monument and the breath taking landscape it's placed in. Construction of the church began around 1389, under the architect Hans von Burghausen. The building was completed in 1500. With a height of 130.6 m (428 feet), the church tower is considered to be the tallest brick building in the world.
