The Arcueil Aqueduct at Sceaux Railroad Crossing Puzzle Details:

About: Today we're visiting the Aqueduct in Arcueil, a commune in the Val-de-Marne department in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. The name Arcueil means "place of the arches" (Latin radical arcus, "arch", and Celtic suffix -ialo, "place of"), in reference to the Roman aqueduct carrying water to the Roman city of Lutetia (modern Paris). Between 1613 and 1624 a bridge-aqueduct over 400 meters long was constructed to bring water from the spring of Rungis, south of Arcueil, across the Bievre river to the Luxembourg Palace in Paris. Between 1868 and 1872 another aqueduct was superimposed above the previous one, forming part of the system bringing water from the river Vanne to Paris. This puzzle is based on a 1874 painting by Jean Baptiste Armand Guillaumin.
