View of Cesky Krumlov

View of Cesky Krumlov

Guess where we're going today? That's right, we're going to Český Krumlov - a town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. The town's historic centre, centred around the Český Krumlov Castle, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. The settlement arose beneath the castle, which was erected from about 1240 onwards by a local branch of the noble Vítkovci family, decendants of Witiko of Prčice. In 1302 the Vítkovci line became extinct and King Wenceslaus II ceded the town and castle to the Rosenberg family. During the Communist era of Czechoslovakia, historic Krumlov fell into disrepair, but since the Velvet Revolution of 1989 much of the town's former beauty has been restored. The town's structures are mostly in Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Click start, solve this puzzle and enjoy a small part of this beautiful town. Have fun!

Lighthouses mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals, reefs, safe entries to harbors, and can also assist in aerial navigation. Once widely used, the number of operational lighthouses has declined due to the expense of maintenance and replacement by modern electronic navigational systems. Vertical light rays of the lamp are redirected into a horizontal plane, and horizontally the light is focused into one or a few directions at a time, with the light beam swept around.
