Rusty Anchor Puzzle Details:

About: Normally used to connect a vessel to the bed of a body of water to prevent the craft from drifting due to wind or water currents the rusty anchor in today's new jigsaw has seen better days. Although we all think of anchors as being made from metal the earliest anchors were simple rocks. Many rock anchors have been found dating from at least the Bronze Age. The ancient Greeks used baskets of stones, large sacks filled with sand, and wooden logs filled with lead.

Alpine Lakes And Forest

In today's new puzzle we're visiting the Denali National Park in Alaska. In this beautiful image you can see the blue alpine lakes and the green forest under a blue cloudy sky. Denali National Park and Preserve is a national park and preserve located in Interior Alaska, centered on Denali (Mount McKinley), the highest mountain in North America. Glaciers cover about 16% of the 6 million acres of Denali National Park and Preserve. There are more extensive glaciers on the southeastern side of the range because more snow is dropped on this side from the moisture-bearing winds from the Gulf of Alaska. During the very cold Pleistocene climates, all of Denali was solidly frozen. In the northern areas of the range, it is very much still frozen due to continued cold temperatures. Permanently frozen ground is known as permafrost. Vegetation in the park depends on the altitude. The treeline is at 2,500 feet (760 m), causing most of the park to be a vast expanse of tundra. There are three types of forest in the park: from lowest to highest, they are low brush bog, bottomland spruce-poplar forest, upland spruce-hardwood forest. Over 450 species of flowering plants fill the park and can be viewed in bloom throughout summer.

The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks. During the armed conflict between Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats in the Bosnian War in the 1990s, the bridge was destroyed by the HVO (Croatian Defence Council). Since the end of the wider war in 1995, great progress has been made in the reconstruction of the city of Mostar. A monumental project to rebuild the Old Bridge, which was destroyed during the Bosnian War, to the original design, and restore surrounding structures and historic neighbourhoods was initiated in 1999 and mostly completed by Spring 2004.
