Pink Silk Trees

The pink silk tree, Persian silk tree, or mimosa tree, is a small deciduous tree with a broad crown of level or arching branches native to southwestern and eastern Asia. It is widely planted as an ornamental plant in parks and gardens. It's flowers bloom throughout the summer in dense inflorescences, which resemble starbursts of pink silky threads.

Grand Teton National Park

Today we're going to Wyoming, to visit the Grand Teton National Park. The park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range(a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains) as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole. It is an almost pristine ecosystem and the same species of flora and fauna that have existed since prehistoric times can still be found there. Grand Teton National Park is a popular destination for hiking, fishing, mountaineering, and other forms of recreation.

Bald Cypress Autumn Leaves

Also known as swamp cypress, white cypress, tidewater red cypress, gulf cypress and red cypress, the bald cypress is a deciduous conifer. Although many conifers are evergreen, bald cypress trees shed their needlelike leaves in the fall. Their bark is grayish brown to reddish brown, thin, and fibrous with a stringy texture and have needle-like green leaves. In autumn, the leaves turn yellow or copper red. Each winter the trees drop their leaves and regrow a new set in the spring.

Glacier National Park Landscape

The park is about 4000 square kilometers and it includes parts of two mountain ranges, more than 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals(such as moose, grizzly bears, and mountain goats, as well as rare or endangered species like Canadian lynxes and wolverines). The Twelve Apostles

Today we're in Victoria, Australia visiting the Twelve Apostles - a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park. The harsh and extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean gradually erode the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then become arches that eventually collapse, leaving rock stacks up to 50 m high. The stacks were originally known as the Pinnacles, and the Sow and Pigs (or Sow and Piglets, with Muttonbird Island being the Sow and the smaller rock stacks being the Piglets), as well as the Twelve Apostles.

Weeping Willows

Red Lake

Today we're visiting the largest natural dam lake in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains. The lake is located at the foot of Hasmasul Mare Mountain, near the Bicaz Gorge, in Harghita County, Romania. It was formed following the collapse of a slope due to the earthquake of January 23, 1838. Soon after the valley had been closed, the forest was flooded, and the trees were petrified, giving a rare peculiarity to the whole landscape. Parts of the petrified spruce trunks can still be seen sticking out of the water to this day. The lake and surroundings are a popular tourist attraction.

Rock Formations in the Garden of the Gods

Today's we visiting the Garden of the Gods, a public park located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. The park is filled with large sandstone rock formations, that were created during a geological upheaval along a natural fault line millions of years ago. The park is popular for biking, hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Because of the unusual and steep rock formations in the park, it is especially attractive for rock climbers.
