Rapperswil Puzzle Details:

About: Today we're visiting Rapperswil in Switzerland. The town is located at the east side of the Lake Zurich. The old town (a view of which you can see in this puzzle) is dominated by the Schloss Rapperswil (Rapperswil Castle). The castle was built in the early 13th century AD by the House of Rapperswil in the former independent city of Rapperswil. Rebuilt by Duke Albert II, since 1354 the castle forms an almost equilateral triangle, and each corner of the castle is reinforced with a tower. The castle is situated next to Stadtpfarrkirche Rapperswil, a Roman Catholic parish church (you can see both in this puzzle).

Sand Dunes By The Seashore

Sand Dunes By The Seashore

In this nature themed puzzle we're taking a walk along some impressive costal sand dunes. Dunes are large masses of wind-blown sand. Dunes occur in some deserts, inland and along some coasts. Costal dunes run parallel to the shoreline directly inland from the beach. In most cases, they protect the land against potential ravages by storm waves from the sea. The three key ingredients for coastal dune formation are a large sand supply, winds to move the sand supply, and a place for the sand supply to accumulate.

This impressive canyon, located within the western half of Zion National Park in southwestern Utah, United States, is carved by the North Fork of the Virgin River. It is part of the Navajo sandstone Colorado Plateau. The beginning of the canyon (also known as Little Zion, Mukuntuweap, Mu-Loon'-Tu-Weap, and Straight CaƱon ) is usually delineated as the Temple of Sinawava, a vertical-walled natural amphitheater nearly 910 m deep. The canyon actually begins much further upstream, however, and runs southward about 26 km through the Narrows to reach the Temple. he canyon was named by settler Isaac Behunin, who named the canyon after a "place of peace" mentioned in 2 Samuel 5:7 of the Bible. John Wesley Powell (U.S. soldier, geologist, explorer of the American West, professor at Illinois Wesleyan University) is credited with the name Mukuntuweap, supposedly the native name of the canyon.
