Wind Turbine

Renewable energy is collected from renewable resources like: wind, sunlight, the movement of water, and geothermal heat. Wind turbines, like the one featured in today's puzzle, are used to lower energy costs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. They convert wind energy to electricity and can be very large, reaching over 140 m tall and with blades 55 m long.

A Misty Day In the Redwood Forest

It's misty summer morning and we're in the middle of a redwood forest in the Redwood National and State Parks along the coast of northern California. If you didn't know, sequoioideae, popularly known as redwoods, is a subfamily of coniferous trees. These trees are the tallest, among the oldest, and one of the most massive tree species on Earth.

The Maroon Bells

The Maroon Bells (Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak) are two distinctively bell-shaped peaks towering 14,000 ft. above the pristine, glacial Maroon Creek Valley. They are part of the Elk Mountains and are located just outside Aspen in Colorado's Rocky Mountains USA. Both peaks are fourteeners (a mountain peak with an elevation of at least 14,000 feet (4267 meters)). Maroon Peak, at 14,163 feet (4317 m), is the 27th highest peak in Colorado. North Maroon Peak, at 14,019 feet (4273 m), is the 50th highest. The Maroon Bells are composed of the Maroon Formation - mudstone.

Rock Formations in the Garden of the Gods

Today's we visiting the Garden of the Gods, a public park located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. The park is filled with large sandstone rock formations, that were created during a geological upheaval along a natural fault line millions of years ago. The park is popular for biking, hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Because of the unusual and steep rock formations in the park, it is especially attractive for rock climbers.

Matterhorn Reflected In Stellisee Lake

Today we're going to Switzerland to visit the Stellisee mountain lake near Zermatt in the Valais Alps. Located in a breath taking alpine landscape, this beautiful mountain lake is near the Matterhorn - a mountain of the Alps, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. You can see the large, near-symmetric pyramidal peak reflected in the lake's clear water. The Matterhorn has two distinct summits, situated at either end of a 100-metre-long (330 ft) exposed rocky crest which forms the Italian/Swiss border. The tallest peak is 4,478 meters (14,692 ft) high, making it one of the highest summits in the Alps and Europe. The German name Matterhorn is named for Mattertal and Zermatt (historically Matt "alpine meadow", the prefix zer- is a preposition).

Fishing On An Autumn Day

What better way to spend a warm Autumn day than fishing in a breathtaking landscape? Start this Fall themed puzzle, put the fisherman, his boat, the calm waters of the lake and surrounding landscape back together and relax for few minutes. If you didn't know, recreational fishing took a great leap forward after the English Civil War, where a newly found interest in the activity left its mark on the many books and treatises that were written on the subject at the time. Recreational fishers fish for pleasure, sport, or to provide food for themselves. There are many fishing techniques and tactics for catching fish (hand gathering, spearfishing, netting, angling and trapping). Usually, recreational fishers use angling methods.

Trees and Houses

This new puzzle is base on "Trees and Houses Near the Jas de Bouffan" oil on canvas painting by Paul Cezanne. The painting depicts a view of the Cezanne family residence , Jas de Bouffan mansion, near Aix-en-Provence. The mansion was built circa 1750 for Gaspard Trupheme, an Advisor to the Court of Audits. It was purchased by banker Louis-Auguste Cezanne, the father of famed painter Paul Cezanne, in 1859.

Windmill on the River Gein

This beautiful puzzle featuring an old windmill on the river Gein is based on a painting by Willem Roelofs, a Dutch painter. The painting depicts the Gein River, which is a small river that flows through the countryside near Abcoude, a town in the province of Utrecht in the Netherlands. In the background we can see and old wing mill surrounded by lush greenery on both sides; in the foreground the the calm waters of the Gein river and tow fishermen in a small boat. Have fun!

Train Crosses A High Trestle

Today we're going to the Rocky Mountain town of Georgetown and taking the Georgetown Loop Railroad scenic train to see breathtaking landscape. The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge United States heritage railroad located in the Rocky Mountains in Clear Creek Count. This tourist train runs between the communities of Georgetown and Silver Plume through mountainous terrain along with trestles, cuts, fills, and a grand loop.

The Rock of Hautepierr

The beautiful landscape in today's puzzle was painted by Gustave Courbet, a French painter who led the Realism movement in 19th-century French painting, in 1869. The painting depicts and impressive rocky cliff and the surrounding countryside - small farm house, a dirt road and few trees.
