The Twelve Apostles

Today we're in Victoria, Australia visiting the Twelve Apostles - a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park. The harsh and extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean gradually erode the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then become arches that eventually collapse, leaving rock stacks up to 50 m high. The stacks were originally known as the Pinnacles, and the Sow and Pigs (or Sow and Piglets, with Muttonbird Island being the Sow and the smaller rock stacks being the Piglets), as well as the Twelve Apostles.

River Landscape

Put today's puzzle back together and relax in a breathtaking river landscape. The puzzle is based on a oil on canvas painting by Annibale Carracci (an Italian painter) and it depicts the landscape by the banks of a small river on sunny autumn day. Surrounded by trees and vegetation, in the center of the image, partially covered by a tree in the foreground, we can see a small boat being pushed along the shallow waters of the river by the boatman while the other passengers enjoy the beautiful autumn landscape.

Grand Teton National Park

Today we're going to Wyoming, to visit the Grand Teton National Park. The park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range(a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains) as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole. It is an almost pristine ecosystem and the same species of flora and fauna that have existed since prehistoric times can still be found there. Grand Teton National Park is a popular destination for hiking, fishing, mountaineering, and other forms of recreation.

Rolls of Hay

Once hay is cut, dried and raked into windrows, it is usually gathered into bales, rolls or bundles, then hauled to a storage location. Hay is used as animal fodder, either for large grazing animals raised as livestock, such as horses, cattle, sheep, and goats, or for smaller domesticated animals such as rabbits. Commonly used plants for hay include mixtures of grasses such as orchard grass, ryegrass, timothy, brome, fescue, and other species. It may also include legumes and clovers.

Prater Landscape

This beautiful puzzle is based on a painting by Ferdinand Georg Waldmuller (one of the most important Austrian landscape painters). It depicts a view of Prater, a large public garden in Vienna, Austria. In the foreground a man sits beside a tree and takes in the beautiful landscape. In the background the sunlight illuminates the trees in the park, creating alternating areas of light and shadow.

Red Lake

Today we're visiting the largest natural dam lake in the Eastern Carpathian Mountains. The lake is located at the foot of Hasmasul Mare Mountain, near the Bicaz Gorge, in Harghita County, Romania. It was formed following the collapse of a slope due to the earthquake of January 23, 1838. Soon after the valley had been closed, the forest was flooded, and the trees were petrified, giving a rare peculiarity to the whole landscape. Parts of the petrified spruce trunks can still be seen sticking out of the water to this day. The lake and surroundings are a popular tourist attraction.

In today's puzzle we feature a small railroad bridge in a beautiful alpine setting. Railroad bridges, like the one featured in today's puzzle, are structures built for the exclusive purpose of carrying railroad traffic across rivers and other obstacles.

The rain has finally stopped and the weather is improving. Take a few minutes, put the impressive clouds featured in this jigsaw puzzle back together and relax. If you didn't know, a cloud is made up of a visible mass of minute liquid droplets, ice crystals, or other particles suspended in the atmosphere. Clouds come in variety of shape and sizes depending on temperature, humidity, wind, location and more.

Simplon Pass

Today's puzzle is based on a oil on canvas painting by John Singer Sargent. The artist visited and sketched the view depicted in Simplon Pass as early as 1904, and returned for extended visits in the following years. This beautiful high mountain pass is located in Switzerland near the border of Italy between the Pennine Alps and the Lepontine Alps.

Weeping Willows

Put the beautiful landscape featured in today's puzzle back together and see the weeping willows on lake shore. The weeping willow or Babylon willow is a medium - to large-sized deciduous tree, growing up to 20 - 25 m tall. It is extensively cultivated around the world and is used in hedges and landscaping. Sand Dunes By The Seashore

In this nature themed puzzle we're taking a walk along some impressive costal sand dunes. Dunes are large masses of wind-blown sand. Dunes occur in some deserts, inland and along some coasts. Costal dunes run parallel to the shoreline directly inland from the beach. In most cases, they protect the land against potential ravages by storm waves from the sea. The three key ingredients for coastal dune formation are a large sand supply, winds to move the sand supply, and a place for the sand supply to accumulate.
