Victoria Falls

In today's new puzzle we're visiting one of the world's largest waterfalls. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, the Victoria Falls are classified as the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 meters (5,604 ft) and height of 108 meters (354 ft). It is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River. The Victoria Falls are roughly twice the height of North America's Niagara Falls and well over twice the width of its Horseshoe Falls.

Rock Formations in the Garden of the Gods

Today's we visiting the Garden of the Gods, a public park located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. The park is filled with large sandstone rock formations, that were created during a geological upheaval along a natural fault line millions of years ago. The park is popular for biking, hiking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. Because of the unusual and steep rock formations in the park, it is especially attractive for rock climbers.

Autumn On the Hudson River

This beautiful view of the Hudson River Valley was painted by Jasper Francis Cropsey in 1860. In the distance you can see the Hudson River and Storm King Mountain. In the foreground the painter depicted the beautiful valley on a sunny Autumn day. If you look closely you can see three people and their dog resting under a tree, some cows drinking from the river and some other interesting details. Click start and give it a try!

Federa Lake And Midday Peak

In today's puzzle we're visiting lake Federa (lago Fedèra). This beautiful alpine lake in the Italian Dolomites is located within the municipal area of Cortina d'Ampezzo , in the province of Belluno. The mountain peak reflecting in the lake's waters is called Becco di Mezzodi (2,603m) and it is a a mountain of the Croda da Lago chain, a small mountain group in the central Dolomites. The mountain's name means Midday Peak in the local dialect, as the sun appears directly above the peak at midday from Cortina.

Gates of the Yosemite

Today's puzzle is based on Albert Bierstadt's 1882 painting called "Gates of the Yosemite". Bierstadt was a German-American painter best known for his breathtaking landscapes of the American West. The painting featured in this puzzle depicts the Gates of the Valley near the western end of Yosemite Valley (a glacial valley in Yosemite National Park in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of Central California).

Prater Landscape

This beautiful puzzle is based on a painting by Ferdinand Georg Waldmuller (one of the most important Austrian landscape painters). It depicts a view of Prater, a large public garden in Vienna, Austria. In the foreground a man sits beside a tree and takes in the beautiful landscape. In the background the sunlight illuminates the trees in the park, creating alternating areas of light and shadow.

On the Ausable

In today's puzzle we're visiting the Adirondacks’ Keene Valley, through which the Ausable river flows. Also known as AuSable River and originally written as "Au Sable", the river runs in the U.S. state of New York, from the Adirondack Mountains to Lake Champlain. It was originally named "Au Sable" ("sandy" in French) by Samuel de Champlain when he first explored the region in 1609 because of its sandy delta. This puzzle is based on a watercolor and gouache on green-gray wove paper painting by James David Smillie (American, New York 1833–1909 New York).

Vahrn in Tyrol near Brixen

As you might of guessed from the title, today we're visiting Vahrn in Tyrol near Brixen. Or better said, a beautiful part of it as by William Stanley Haseltine in the 1800s. Haseltine (June 11, 1835 – February 3, 1900) was an American painter and draftsman who was associated with the Dusseldorf school of painting, the Hudson River School and Luminism. This beautiful landscape was painted in watercolor and gouache on blue wove paper.
