About: Today we're on shores of Bow Lake, a small lake in western Alberta, Canada. This beautiful mountain lake is located on the Bow River, in the Canadian Rockies, at an altitude of 1920 m. Water in the lake is meltwater of the Bow Glacier and its turquoise coloring is due to glacial till (unsorted glacial sediment).

Both peaks are fourteeners (a mountain peak with an elevation of at least 14,000 feet (4267 meters)). Maroon Peak, at 14,163 feet (4317 m), is the 27th highest peak in Colorado. North Maroon Peak, at 14,019 feet (4273 m), is the 50th highest. The Maroon Bells are composed of the Maroon Formation - mudstone.

The mountain peak reflecting in the lake's waters is called Becco di Mezzodi (2,603m) and it is a a mountain of the Croda da Lago chain, a small mountain group in the central Dolomites. The mountain's name means Midday Peak in the local dialect, as the sun appears directly above the peak at midday from Cortina.

Today we're visiting the Aqueduct in Arcueil, a commune in the Val-de-Marne department in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. The name Arcueil means "place of the arches" (Latin radical arcus, "arch", and Celtic suffix -ialo, "place of"), in reference to the Roman aqueduct carrying water to the Roman city of Lutetia (modern Paris). Between 1613 and 1624 a bridge-aqueduct over 400 meters long was constructed to bring water from the spring of Rungis, south of Arcueil, across the Bievre river to the Luxembourg Palace in Paris. Between 1868 and 1872 another aqueduct was superimposed above the previous one, forming part of the system bringing water from the river Vanne to Paris. This puzzle is based on a 1874 painting by Jean Baptiste Armand Guillaumin.

If you didn't know a butte is an isolated hill with steep, often vertical sides and a small, relatively flat top. Buttes form by weathering and erosion. Monument Valley has some of the largest, most distinctive and widely recognized buttes.

Matterhorn Reflected In Stellisee Lake

Today we're going to Switzerland to visit the Stellisee mountain lake near Zermatt in the Valais Alps. Located in a breath taking alpine landscape, this beautiful mountain lake is near the Matterhorn - a mountain of the Alps, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. You can see the large, near-symmetric pyramidal peak reflected in the lake's clear water. The Matterhorn has two distinct summits, situated at either end of a 100-metre-long (330 ft) exposed rocky crest which forms the Italian/Swiss border. The tallest peak is 4,478 meters (14,692 ft) high, making it one of the highest summits in the Alps and Europe. The German name Matterhorn is named for Mattertal and Zermatt (historically Matt "alpine meadow", the prefix zer- is a preposition).
