Monument Valley

Today we're going to Arizona to visit Monument Valley. The valley is located on the Utah-Arizona state line and it's known for it's cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 300 m above the valley floor. If you didn't know a butte is an isolated hill with steep, often vertical sides and a small, relatively flat top. Buttes form by weathering and erosion. Monument Valley has some of the largest, most distinctive and widely recognized buttes.

Wind River Canyon

Autumn On the Hudson River

This beautiful view of the Hudson River Valley was painted by Jasper Francis Cropsey in 1860. In the distance you can see the Hudson River and Storm King Mountain.
