Shashlik

In today's food themed puzzle we feature a grill full of shashlik skewers. If you didn't know, shashlik, or shashlyk, is a dish of skewered and grilled cubes of meat, similar to with shish kebab. Shashlik was originally made of lamb, but nowadays it is also made of pork, beef, or venison, depending on local preferences and religious observances. The meat is marinated overnight in a high-acidity marinade like vinegar, dry wine or sour fruit/vegetable juice with the addition of onions, herbs and spices. The skewers are usually roasted on a mangal(barbecue) over wood, charcoal, or coal.

Freshly Picked Cherries

What better way to start the weekend then with a relaxing jigsaw puzzle and some freshly picked cherries. Cherries have a very short growing season and can grow in most temperate latitudes. They are usually eaten raw but the are also turned into preserves, juice or dried.

Time for a tasty snack. If you didn't know the croissant is a buttery, flaky, pastry. It originated in Austria, but but mostly associated with France. The name comes from it's crescent shape. Croissants can be plain or they can be filled with chocolate, vanilla, various jams and even ham, cheese or spinach.

Time for a tasty treat! In this new puzzle we feature a tasy quattro stagioni pizza. If you didn't know, quattro stagioni is a variety of pizza that is prepared in four sections with diverse ingredients (artichokes, tomatoes, mushrooms, prosciutto, ham, olives and more). In italian cusine the four sections represent the four seasons of the year.
