The lentil is grown around the world as food crop. It is an annual plant known for its edible lens-shaped seeds. The seeds grow in pods, usually with two seeds in each. Lentils can be eaten boiled, soaked, germinated, fried or baked. Split lentils are often cooked into a thick curry/gravy that is usually eaten with rice.

Fresh Watermelon

If you didn't know, watermelons were originally cultivated for their high water content and were stored to be eaten during dry seasons, not only as a food source, but as a method of storing water. Watermelon fruit is 91% water, contains 6% sugars, and is low in fat. Watermelons are usually eaten fresh, as slices, diced in mixed fruit salads, or as juice.

Walnuts are rich in several dietary minerals, particularly manganese, and B vitamins.

If you didn't already know, pineapples grow as a small shrub and are indigenous to South America. The individual flowers the unpollinated pineapple plant fuse to form a multiple fruit - the pineapple fruit featured in this puzzle. If you didn't know, Bruschetta is starter dish from Italy consisting of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with olive oil, tomatoes, basil, vegetables, beans, cured meat, or cheese. Bruschetta originated in Italy during 15th century and it was developed as a way of salvaging bread that was going stale. The noun bruschetta comes from the Roman dialect verb bruscare, the equivalent which means "to toast", or "to roast over coals".
