Fettuccine And Penne Pasta

This morning we're in the kitchen getting ready to cook some pasta. We can choose between fettuccine or penne. What is your favorite? If you didn't know, fettuccine is a type of pasta made of egg and flour. Individual pieces of fettuccine are long, flat ribbons that are curled up into small balls. The other type of pasta we have is penne, an extruded type of pasta with cylinder-shaped pieces. Penne is traditionally cooked al dente and its shape makes it particularly adapted for sauces, such as pesto, marinara, or arrabbiata.

Freshly Picked Beans

In today's puzzle we feature some freshly picked kidney beans. Beans are one of the longest-cultivated plants in history. They can be cooked in many different ways, including boiling, frying, and baking, and are used in many a variety of dishes throughout the world. Beans are high in protein, complex carbohydrates, folate, iron and contain significant amounts of fiber and soluble fiber.

Sesame Seed Bread Rolls

Bread rolls are usually round or oblong(like the ones in this puzzle). They can be served and eaten whole or cut transversely and used to make sandwiches. Some varieties of bread rolls are garnished with whole seeds such as sesame, poppy, pumpkin or sunflower.

Bell Peppers

In today's puzzle we feature some freshly picked bell peppers. Bell peppers come in different colors, including red, green, yellow, purple, orange and white. They are native to Mexico, Central America, and northern South America but they are now cultivated all around the world.

If you didn't know, a baguette is a long, thin loaf of French bread. It has a diameter of about 5 to 6 centimeters (2–2,5 inches) and a usual length of about 65 cm (26 in), although a baguette can be up to 1 m (39 in) long. In this food themed puzzle we feature a bunch of freshly baked mini baguettes. They are smaller in size and can easily fit in a bread basket.

Mandarin Oranges

Mandarins are generally peeled and eaten fresh or used in salads, desserts and other dishes. The mandarin orange, also known as the mandarin or mandarine, is smaller and oblate, unlike the spherical common orange. It has a sweeter and stronger taste than the common orange.

In today's puzzle we feature a ripe tomato in the warm autumn sun. If you didn't know, the tomato is the edible berry and it comes in a variety of sizes and shapes. Most tomatoes are red, but there are also yellow varieties grown in certain parts of the world. Tomatoes are eaten raw or cooked, in many dishes, sauces, salads, and drinks.

Green Beans

Green beans are also known as French beans, string beans, snap beans or simply snaps. They can be eaten raw or steamed, boiled, stir-fried, or baked. They are sold fresh, canned, and frozen. Raw green beans are 90% water, 7% carbohydrates, 2% protein, and they are a moderate source of vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B6, and manganese.

Avocados

If you didn't know, botanically avocados are large berries containing a single large seed. They likely originated from to south-central Mexico and are now cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates around the world. Avocados are a rich source of several B vitamins and vitamin K, with moderate contents of vitamin C, vitamin E, and potassium. Because of its high fat content, the avocado is commonly used in vegetarian cuisine as a substitute for meats.

Pears
