It's five-petaled flowers are 10 cm (4 in) in diameter, with prominent orange-tipped red anthers. Cultivars and hybrids have flowers in a variety of colors as well as red: yellow, pink, white, orange, blue ,purple, and peach.

This beautiful lily is is native to Japan and it's called yamayuri (literally "mountain lily") in Japanese. The strongly scented flowers are the largest of any lily species. They are typically white with gold radial markings and orange spots, but variations in flower color and markings are known.
