Monarch Butterfly On A Sunflower Puzzle Details:

About: It's time for a new puzzle. Today's we're featuring a Monarch butterfly sitting on a sunflower. The upper side of the monarch's wings is tawny-orange, the veins and margins are black, and in the margins are two series of small white spots. The fore wings also have a few orange spots near the tip. The underside is similar, but the tip of the fore wing and hind wing are yellow-brown instead of tawny-orange and the white spots are larger. The monarch is famous for its southward late summer/autumn migration from the United States and southern Canada to Mexico and coastal California, and northward return in spring.

Bees And Flowers

Bees and flowers have a symbiotic relationship (they benefit from one another). Bees pollinate flowers, which means they transfer pollen from the flowers of one plant to the flowers of another plant. Bees do not purposely do this. While trying to collect the pollen to take back to their hives some pollen is accidentally dropped on the flowers they land to collect more pollen. Pollination results in the formation of seeds. So, the bees get the pollen they need to survive and make honey and the plants grow fruit/seeds and reproduce.

Cultivation of the tulip began in Persia, probably in the 10th century. Although it is unknown who first brought the tulip to Northwestern Europe, the most widely accepted story is that it was Oghier Ghislain de Busbecq, an ambassador for Emperor Ferdinand I to Suleyman the Magnificent. It is believed the first tulips in the United States were grown near Spring Pond at the Fay Estate in Lynn and Salem, Massachusetts.Tulip flowers come in a wide variety of colors, except pure blue.
