Sweet William Flowers

Dianthus barbatus, or sweet William, has become a popular ornamental garden plant. It is a species of flowering plant native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. Wild plants produce red flowers with a white base, but colors in cultivars range from white, pink, red, and purple to variegated patterns. It is often said it was named in the 18th century in honour of Prince William, Duke of Cumberland. It is also said to be named after Saint William of York or after William the Conqueror.

Bearded Iris Flowers

Also known as German bearded iris or simply bearder, iris Iris x germanica is the name for a species of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae. It grows up to 120 cm high and it's flowers can have nearly every color from black to white, to red, pink, violet, yellow and many more. It is popular for it's beautiful and fragrant flowers and grown in gardens all over the world.

If you didn't know, Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC. It entered American horticulture in 1798 when Colonel John Stevens imported a cultivated variety known as "Dark Purple" from England. Chrysanthemums are divided into two basic groups, garden hardy and exhibition. They are native to East Asia and northeastern Europe and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars exist.
