Dad's Coming

This new puzzle is based on Winslow Homer's 1873 painting "Dad's Coming!". The painting depicts a woman and her children waiting for her husband to come back from fishing after a strong storm. The image was most likely inspired by the incident Homer witnessed in the summer of 1873 in Gloucester, Massachusetts, when strong storm claimed nine boats.

Love of Winter

This new puzzle is based on a painting by George Bellows. He painted this colorful art piece after a major blizzard hit New York City in February 1914. The painting depicts a group of people skating on a frozen lake. On the edges of this natural ice skating rink onlookers of a wide range of ages and social classes, reflecting the diverse population of the city at that time, look on or are getting ready to join in the winter fun. Today's puzzle is based on Enoch Wood Perry's 1876 painting with the same name. The painting depicts a young woman sitting by a window darning. If you didn't know, darning is a sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric or knitting. The painting is called A Month's Daring because, in the original painting (not visible in this puzzle), by her side she has a basket full of clothes and socks that need fixing.

Wooded Landscape with Travelers

This new puzzle is based on Jan Brueghel the Elder 1610 oil on panel painting "Wooded Landscape with Travelers". Jan Brueghel the Elder was a Flemish painter and draughtsman. He worked in many genres including history paintings, landscapes and seascapes, hunting pieces, village scenes, allegorical and mythological scenes, battle scenes and more. Wooded Landscape with Travelers depicts a rustic scene in the Flemish countryside. Farmers and their animals are depicted traveling to and from a city in the distance.

Luncheon Still Life

It's time for another art themed puzzle. This new one is called "Luncheon Still Life" and it's based on an oil on canvas painting John F. Francis. Francis was known as a leading painter of luncheon and dessert still lifes. Nearly all of his paintings depict fruits and desserts.

The Afternoon Meal

Today's puzzle is based on a 1772 painting by Luis Melendez ( the greatest Spanish still-life painter of the 18th century). The painting features a picnic basket, some loaves of freshly baked bread, grapes, some peaches, a melon, some juicy pears, a bottle of wine and some other food containers and plates - everything you need for an afternoon meal in a breathtaking natural landscape.

Holiday on the Hudson

Today's puzzle is based on George Benjamin Luks 1912 oil on canvas painting - "Holiday on the Hudson". It depicts people on holiday going for a boat ride on the Hudson on a sunny Summer day. Luks is best-known for his paintings that reflect the life of people living in the Manhattan's Lower East Side at that time.

Skiffs

This new puzzle is based on the 1887 oil on canvas painting by Gustave Caillebotte - a French painter who was a member and patron of the Impressionists, although he painted in a more realistic manner than many others in the group. Between 1877 and 1878, Caillebotte made a series of paintings focusing on swimmers, rowers, fishermen, and canoers at his family estate in Yerres. One of these paintings is Skiffs or "Pesissoires sur L'Yerres" (Flat-Bottom Canoes on the Yerres) how it was originally named. The painting was first exhibited at the fourth impressionist exhibition in 1879.

A Cherry Vendor at the Door

This beautiful and fun puzzle is based on an oil on panel painting from 1816 by Abraham van Strij. It depicts a mother and her daughter buying some fresh cherries from a woman selling them door to door. In this beautiful scene of life in the 1800s you can also see the entrance to the house, some house in the background, the family's pets(a small dog and cat) and some other small details.

New England Headlands

This fun and colorful puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting by Childe Hassam (an American Impressionist painter). The painting depicts a panoramic view of Gloucester, Massachusetts, one of Hassam's favorite destinations. Put the pieces back together and see how this beautiful destination looked in 1899, when Hassam painted this landscape. Have fun!

Based on an oil on canvas painting by Auguste Renoir, today's puzzle depicts two female figures at the beach on a sunny summer day. The artist probably painted this scene on the Cote d'Azur in southern France. Next to the two women we can see a small white dog resting, in the distance a small child playing and in the the background some boats sailing on the calm blue waters of the sea.
