About: This new puzzle is based Frederic Remington's 1889 painting "The Mexican Major". Frederic Sackrider Remington (October 4, 1861 – December 26, 1909) was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer who specialized in depictions of the American Old West. The painting featured in this puzzle was inspired by Remington's six-week visit to Mexico in 1889 in preparation for an article in Harper’s Weekly magazine. During his visit Remington was greatly impressed by the Mexican army.
