The Japanese Footbridge

Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Claude Monet. In 1899, the artist painted 12 works from a single vantage point, focusing on an arching blue-green Japanese footbridge and the landscape around it. Monet designed and built the landscape that appears in the painting on his property in the rural community of Giverny where he moved in 1883.

Meadow with Animals

Today's beautiful puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting by Jan van Ravenswaay - a 19th-century landscape painter from the Northern Netherlands. The painting depicts animals grazing and resting on a grassy meadow. You can see a couple of horses in one corner, a young shepherd boy resting with his goats and cows in the foreground and event some cute ducks swimming in a small pond in the bottom right corner.

Two Women at a Window

Today's new puzzle is based on Bartolome Esteban Murillo's 1655/1660 oil on canvas painting "Two Women at a Window". Although he is best known for his religious works, Murillo also produced a considerable number of paintings of contemporary women and children. In this painting we can see two women. On standing behind a partially opened shutter while attempting to hide a smile wit shawl and another younger one leaning on the windowsill, gazing at someone outside.

Still Life with a Ginger Jar and Eggplants

This beautiful and challenging jigsaw puzzle is based on a painting by Paul Cezanne, a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter. For this still life painting Cezanne used a variety of familiar objects that are featured in some of his other still life paintings. For example the ginger jar, is featured in more than a dozen paintings from the same period.

Still Life: Balsam Apple and Vegetables

Today's puzzle is based on a 1820s painting by James Peale. The vegetables in this beautiful still life painting are: okra(ladies' fingers or ochro), blue-green cabbage, crinkly Savoy cabbage, Hubbard squash, eggplant, balsam apple, tomatoes, and purple-red cabbage. Take a few minutes, put the puzzle back together and take in this beautiful piece of art. Have fun!

A Month's Darning

Today's puzzle is based on Enoch Wood Perry's 1876 painting with the same name. The painting depicts a young woman sitting by a window darning. If you didn't know, darning is a sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric or knitting. The painting is called A Month's Daring because, in the original painting (not visible in this puzzle), by her side she has a basket full of clothes and socks that need fixing.

Weaning the Calves

The scene depicted in today's puzzle is probably located on one of the pasturelands of the Pyrenees where Rosa Bonheur, the author of the painting that this puzzles is based on, took a trip there in 1850. The painting depicts some calves separated from their mother in an improvised pen. If you didn't know, weaning is the process of gradually introducing an young animal or human to what will be its adult diet while withdrawing the supply of its mother's milk. The process takes place only in mammals, the only as they are the only animals that produce milk.

The Singel

The Singel (one of the canals of Amsterdam) used to encircle the city in the Middle Ages, serving as a moat around the city until 1585, when Amsterdam expanded beyond it's banks. In today's puzzle, based 1884 - 1886 painting by Eduard Alexander Hilverdink, we're going back to the 1800s and reconstructing the part of the beautiful view from the banks of the canal. Have fun!

Farmhouse in Provence

Today's puzzle is based on the 1888 painting with the same name. Also known as Entrance Gate to a Farm with Haystacks, Farmhouse in Provence is an oil-on-canvas by Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. At the time that Van Gogh made this beautiful painting, he was 35 years old and living in Arles, in southern France. During this period he produced some of his best work, such as fields, farmhouses and people of the Arles and Avignon area. As you might of already noticed, Van Gogh used several pairs of complementary colors in the Farmhouse in Provence, the color contrast bringing an intensity to his work.

Still Life with Peaches and Grapes

Another art themed puzzle is here. In this new one we feature a painting called "Still Life with Peaches and Grapes" by Auguste Renoir( a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style). Renoir made this painting, and a similar one showing a jardiniere full of freshly picked peaches, during his stay at the country home of his patron Paul Berard in the small Normandy village of Wargemont in 1881.

Spring Flowers

This new beautiful puzzle is based on a painting by Claude Monet with the same name. He painted this beautiful masterpiece in 1864. The painting features some beautiful Spring flowers (peonies, hydrangeas, lilacs and some geraniums). Monet loved flowers and is quoted as saying, "I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers."

Croquet Scene

This new puzzle is based on a painting from 1866 by Winslow Homer and it depicts three women and one man play croquet. If you didn't already know, croquet is a sport that involves hitting wooden or plastic balls with a mallet through hoops. There are several variations of croquet, differing in the scoring systems, order of shots, and layout. Croquet is played on a grass court.
