The painting featured depicts a small party listening to music in a family home. In his painting Steen often used members of his family as models.

The painter was thought to be a self-portrait of the artist and it has been suggested that the young woman could be his daughter. The painting is considered a work with significance for Vermeer because he did not part with it or sell it, even when he was in debt.

Based on an oil on mahogany panel picture by Martin Johnson Heade, today's puzzle depicts a beautiful cattleya orchid and three hummingbirds. The artist planned to produce a book in the 1860s depicting Brazilian hummingbirds in tropical settings, and, to that end, created a series of 40 small pictures called "The Gems of Brazil". He later abandoned the project but retained his interest in hummingbirds, orchids and jungle landscapes. Cattleya is a genus of orchids that grow from Costa Rica south to Argentina.

This new art themed puzzle is base on Vincent van Gogh's 1887 oil on canvas painting called Fishing in Spring, the Pont de Clichy (Asnières). The setting of this work is the Seine River at the Pont de Clichy, near Asnières. The Seine has been an integral part of Parisian life for centuries for commerce, travel and entertainment and it has been the subject and location of the paintings that Vincent van Gogh made in 1887. Longing for tranquil settings, van Gogh began to paint beyond the city fortifications and along the banks of the Seine, in Asnières and the island of Grand Jatte. He experimented with a lighter, more colorful palette than used in his early Dutch paintings or Montmartre series.

The painting depicts musicians playing their instruments at concert while following the instruction of their bandleader. The underling political message was that, like in music, in society harmony can be achieved when the guidance of the leader is followed.
