Love of Winter

This new puzzle is based on a painting by George Bellows. He painted this colorful art piece after a major blizzard hit New York City in February 1914. The painting depicts a group of people skating on a frozen lake. On the edges of this natural ice skating rink onlookers of a wide range of ages and social classes, reflecting the diverse population of the city at that time, look on or are getting ready to join in the winter fun. Figures on the Beach

Based on an oil on canvas painting by Auguste Renoir, today's puzzle depicts two female figures at the beach on a sunny summer day. The artist probably painted this scene on the Cote d'Azur in southern France. Next to the two women we can see a small white dog resting, in the distance a small child playing and in the the background some boats sailing on the calm blue waters of the sea.

Wooded Landscape with Travelers

This new puzzle is based on Jan Brueghel the Elder 1610 oil on panel painting "Wooded Landscape with Travelers". Jan Brueghel the Elder was a Flemish painter and draughtsman. He worked in many genres including history paintings, landscapes and seascapes, hunting pieces, village scenes, allegorical and mythological scenes, battle scenes and more. Wooded Landscape with Travelers depicts a rustic scene in the Flemish countryside. Farmers and their animals are depicted traveling to and from a city in the distance.

On the Road

This new art themed puzzle is based on a oil on canvas painting by Jules Dupre. The painting depicts a family in their horse-drawn cart trying to navigate a muddy country road.

Paris Street; Rainy Day

This new puzzle is based on "Paris Street; Rainy Day" a 1877 oil painting by the French artist Gustave Caillebotte (1848–1894). The painting shows a number of people walking through the Place de Dublin, then known as the Carrefour de Moscou, at an intersection to the east of the Gare Saint-Lazare in north Paris. The painting was first shown at the Third Impressionist Exhibition of 1877.

Boat Builder

Another art inspired puzzle is here. This new one is based on John George Brown's 1904 oil on canvas painting with the same name. In the "Boat Builder", Brown depicts an elderly craftsman working with hand tools in his small workshop while his dog is sleeping at his feet.

View of Florence

Today's puzzle is based on "View of Florence", a painting by American artist Thomas Cole. The painting was completed in 1837 and it depicts a panoramic view of the city of Florence, Italy, with the Arno River flowing through the foreground and the city's iconic red-tiled rooftops and the famous Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio in the background. The painting is notable for its highly detailed and realistic depiction of the cityscape, as well as its use of light and color to create a sense of atmosphere and depth. Cole, who is best known for his landscape paintings of the American wilderness, created this painting while on a trip to Europe, where he was inspired by the rich history and culture of Italy.

Dining Room in the Country

Today's puzzle is based on Pierre Bonnard's painting "Dining Room in the Country". It depicts the dining room in Bonnard's country house in Vernonnet, a small town on the Seine. Leaning on the windowsill is Marthe de Meligny, the artist's wife, and on the chairs his two cats.

Jalais Hill

Today's puzzle is based on Camille Pissarro's 1867 painting "Jalais Hill, Pontoise". The painting depicts view of Pontoise, a commune in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. This painting is the one that helped establish the Danish-French Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist painter's reputation as on of the most original and ingenious painters of the rural French landscape.

The Third Avenue Railroad Depot

Today we're going back in time and visiting the Third Avenue Railroad Company’s depot. The impressive brick building was located on Third Avenue between 65th and 66th Streets in New York City. It was completed in 1857. The puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting by William H. Schenck ( the company’s superintendent between 1856 and 1864).

View of the Gulf of Pozzuoli from Solfatara

This new puzzle is base on a painting by the German artist Philipp Hackert(1737-1807) and it features a view of the Gulf of Pozzuoli from Solfatara (an area of volcanic steam vents). The Gulf of Pozzuoli is a small gulf in the northwestern end of the Gulf of Naples in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The countryside around Naples was very popular with 18th and 19th century painters due to its dramatic and impressive landscapes, volcanoes and classical ruins.

The Japanese Footbridge

Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Claude Monet. In 1899, the artist painted 12 works from a single vantage point, focusing on an arching blue-green Japanese footbridge and the landscape around it. Monet designed and built the landscape that appears in the painting on his property in the rural community of Giverny where he moved in 1883.
