About The The Adoration of the Kings Jigsaw Puzzle Game:
Another art themed puzzle is here. Today we feature a painting by Hugo van der Goes (circa 1440-1482) called The Adoration of the Kings (Monforte Altar). The altar's appellation derives from its stay in the monastery of Monforte de Lemos in northern Spain, where it was presumably taken in the 16th century. Image Credits: Hugo van der Goes

The first eyeglasses were made in Italy in about 1286, but it is not clear who the inventor was. he earliest pictorial evidence for the use of eyeglasses is Tommaso da Modena's 1352 portrait of the cardinal Hugh de Provence reading in a scriptorium. Early frames for glasses consisted of two magnifying glasses riveted together by the handles so that they could grip the nose. These are referred to as "rivet spectacles".
These kind of camels, featured in today's jigsaw puzzle, are two-humped camels or bactrian cames, they inhabit Central Asia; the dromedary, or one-humped camel, inhabits the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. The domesticated Bactrian camel has served as a pack animal in inner Asia since ancient times. The wild form has dwindled to a population estimated at 800 in October 2002 and has been classified as critically endangered. Bactrian camels are diurnal, sleeping in the open at night and foraging for food during the day. They are able to eat plants that are dry, prickly, salty and/or bitter, and can ingest virtually any kind of vegetation. The two humps on the back are composed of fat (not water as is sometimes thought).
