Today's puzzle is based on a 1772 painting by Luis Melendez ( the greatest Spanish still-life painter of the 18th century). The painting features a picnic basket, some loaves of freshly baked bread, grapes, some peaches, a melon, some juicy pears, a bottle of wine and some other food containers and plates - everything you need for an afternoon meal in a breathtaking natural landscape.

A Month's Darning

Today's puzzle is based on Enoch Wood Perry's 1876 painting with the same name. The painting depicts a young woman sitting by a window darning. If you didn't know, darning is a sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric or knitting. The painting is called A Month's Daring because, in the original painting (not visible in this puzzle), by her side she has a basket full of clothes and socks that need fixing.

View of Olinda, Brazil

Today we're going back in time and visiting Olinda, Brazil in 1662. This puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting Frans Jansz Post. It depicts Olinda Cathedral (damaged when the Dutch captured the region from the Portuguese in the 1630s) in the background and a variety of indigenous animals, plants, birds and even insects in the foreground. Put the pieces back together and see how many animals and plants can you spot. Have fun!

First Steps, after Millet

This puzzle is based on Vincent van Gogh's painting called "First Steps, after Millet". While a patient at the asylum in Saint-Remy, Van Gogh painted twenty-one copies after Millet, an artist he greatly admired. The painting depicts a fenced-in garden behind a house and two parents encouraging their child to walk for the first time.

Two Sisters

This new puzzle is based on an 1881 oil-on-canvas painting by French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir called the "Two Sisters" or "On the Terrace". The painting depicts a young woman and her younger sister seated outdoors with a small basket containing balls of wool. Renoir worked on the painting on the terrace of the Maison Fournaise, a restaurant located on an island in the Seine in Chatou, the western suburb of Paris.

Still Life with Flowers and Fruit

Today's art themed puzzle is based on the 1866 "Still Life with Flowers and Fruit" painting by Henri Fantin-Latour. The painting is one of four still lifes commissioned from the artist by Michael Spartali (a Greek businessman and diplomat). In addition to his realistic paintings, like the one in this puzzle, Fantin-Latour created imaginative lithographs inspired by the music of some of the great classical composers.

Holiday on the Hudson

Today's puzzle is based on George Benjamin Luks 1912 oil on canvas painting - "Holiday on the Hudson". It depicts people on holiday going for a boat ride on the Hudson on a sunny Summer day. Luks is best-known for his paintings that reflect the life of people living in the Manhattan's Lower East Side at that time.

Hummingbird and Passionflowers

Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Martin Johnson Heade. The American artist was fascinated with hummingbirds and painted them in several of his works. The particular species of the hummingbird represented in this painting is the black-eared fairy. It lives in the same area of the Amazon basin where the passionflower grows.

Fishing in Spring, the Pont de Clichy

This new art themed puzzle is base on Vincent van Gogh's 1887 oil on canvas painting called Fishing in Spring, the Pont de Clichy (Asnières). The setting of this work is the Seine River at the Pont de Clichy, near Asnières. The Seine has been an integral part of Parisian life for centuries for commerce, travel and entertainment and it has been the subject and location of the paintings that Vincent van Gogh made in 1887. Longing for tranquil settings, van Gogh began to paint beyond the city fortifications and along the banks of the Seine, in Asnières and the island of Grand Jatte. He experimented with a lighter, more colorful palette than used in his early Dutch paintings or Montmartre series.

Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Rosa Bonheur. It is one of Bonheur's numerous portraits of hunting dogs and pets and it depicts a dog that belonged to the Vicomte d'Armaille. Click start and give it a try!

In this new puzzle we feature three cute piggies. The puzzle image is based on "The Prize Piggies"(Christmas and New Year card) (1891) by L. Prang & Co. The original picture it depicts five small pigs in a pigsty looking out of a framed barn window. The picture was first exhibited in "Chromo-Mania! The Art of Chromolithography in Boston, 1840-1910.". The Prize Piggies was said to be the most popular picture of 1891.
