Still Life with Flowers and Fruit Puzzle Details:

About: Today's art themed puzzle is based on the 1866 "Still Life with Flowers and Fruit" painting by Henri Fantin-Latour. The painting is one of four still lifes commissioned from the artist by Michael Spartali (a Greek businessman and diplomat). In addition to his realistic paintings, like the one in this puzzle, Fantin-Latour created imaginative lithographs inspired by the music of some of the great classical composers.

Some Other Puzzles In Our Gallery

The Ambassadors

The Ambassadors

Today's new jigsaw puzzle features a painting by Hans Holbein the Younger called The Ambassadors. As well as being a double portrait, the painting contains a still life of several meticulously rendered objects, the meaning of which is the cause of much debate. The most notable and famous of Holbein's symbols in the work, however, is the distorted skull which is placed in the bottom centre of the composition (you can see just the top part on the bottom of the puzzle). The skull, rendered in anamorphic perspective and is meant to be a visual puzzle as the viewer must approach the painting nearly from the side to see it in correct form.
Lilacs And Violets

Lilacs And Violets

A fun jigsaw featuring a vase of lilacs and violets on a draped guilt rococo table.
Dignity and Grace

Dignity and Grace

Another art inspired puzzle game is here. Based on a painting by Carl Reichert the picture featured today depicts two beautiful dogs that inspire the feelings of dignity and grace. Choose your difficulty level, start the puzzle and enjoy putting the two dogs back together. Have fun!
Mussel Fishers at Berneval

Mussel Fishers at Berneval

Another art themed puzzle is here. This new one is based on Pierre-Auguste Renoir's 1879 painting called "Pêcheuses de moules à Berneval, côte normand" (Mussel-Fishers at Berneval). Renoir painted this idyllic scene of a family gathering mussels during an 1879 visit to the Normandy coast. Marine mussels are abundant in the low and mid intertidal zone in temperate seas globally. People have used mussels as food for thousands of years. There are about 17 edible species of mussels that live in saltwater or freshwater habitats.
The Dance To The Music Of Time

The Dance To The Music Of Time

In today's new jigsaw puzzle game we feature a painting by Nicolas Poussin (15 June 1594 – 19 November 1665)- a leading painter of the classical French Baroque style. In Poussin's works a survival of the impulses of the Renaissance is coupled with conscious reference to the art of classical antiquity as the standard of excellence.

Still Life with Cheeses, Almonds and Pretzels

Still Life with Cheeses, Almonds and Pretzels

Today's puzzle is based on the painting with the same name by the Dutch artist Clara Peeters. If you didn't know, Clara Peeters specialised in still lifes with beautiful objects, delicious fruits and expensive food. This type of still life is called "banketje" (banquet) in Dutch. In this painting, in addition to the objects named in the title, there are also curls of butter, figs, a bread roll, a gold-plated Venetian glass, Chinese Wanli porcelain, a silver knife and more. If you look close you can see that Peeters has painted her signature in the handle of the silver knife.
The Peasant Dance

The Peasant Dance

This new puzzle is based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's oil-on-panel painting "The Peasant Dance". The lively peasant scene provides the viewer with a glimpse of social history, but it is likely that Bruegel intended this painting to have a moral sense rather than simply being an affectionate portrayal of peasant life. The panel, neither signed nor dated, was painted circa 1567, at about the same time as "The Peasant Wedding".
The Little Monkey

The Little Monkey

This very colorful and challenging puzzle featuring a little monkey is based on a painting by Franz Marc (1880 -1916, a German painter and print-maker, one of the key figures of the German Expressionist movement. Most of his mature work portrays animals, usually in natural settings, like the monkey in this jigsaw. His paintings are characterized by bright primary color, an almost cubist portrayal of animals, stark simplicity and a profound sense of emotion.
Summer Holiday

Summer Holiday

A fun new puzzle based on Boris Kustodiev painting with the same name. Boris Mikhaylovich Kustodiev (March 7, 1878 – May 28, 1927) was a Russian painter and stage designer.
Glass Vase with Oranges

Glass Vase with Oranges

A beautiful jigsaw based on a painting by Johan Laurentz Jensen featuring thistle, echinops, myrtle in a glass vase with oranges, blackberries and a butterfly on a brown marble ledge.
Ground Swell

Ground Swell

Based on Edward Hopper's 1939 painting "Ground Swell" today's puzzle echoes the themes of loneliness and escape typical of Hopper's art. The blue sky and the vast wave strike a calm note in the picture; however, the visible disengagement of the figures and their noticeable preoccupation with the buoy call into question this initial sense of serenity.
