Today's puzzle is based on a painting by the French impressionist artist Auguste Renoir. The painting depicts a brightly colored scene on the banks of the river the Seine near the town of Chatou, a popular spot for boating and leisure activities in the late 19th century. In the foreground we can see a woman and three men, one in a canoe. In the background the river Seine, some other small boats and the a few houses on the other side of the river.

Mountainous Landscape near Dusseldorf

Put the pieces back together and see how the mountainous landscape near Dusseldorf looked in the 1790s. The image featured in this puzzle is based on an oil on panel painting by Gerard van Nijmegen (a Dutch Old Masters artist). The painting depicts a mountainous landscape with ruins, a small waterfall and ox-wagon going over an old wooden bridge.

Still Life with Teapot and Fruit

This puzzle is based on a painting by Paul Gauguin. It depicts a teapot and some mangoes on a table, a Tahitian-style printed cloth in the background and human figure at the upper right, viewed through a door or window. The painting tries to emulate Cezanne's "Still Life with Fruit Dish" - painting that Gauguin owned at the time.

This new puzzle is based on a painting by Paul Cezanne. It depicts an old abandoned house with cracked walls. The French artist and Post-Impressionist painter often painted abandoned houses and other sites near his studio outside Aix. Still Life with Peaches and Grapes

Another art themed puzzle is here. In this new one we feature a painting called "Still Life with Peaches and Grapes" by Auguste Renoir( a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style). Renoir made this painting, and a similar one showing a jardiniere full of freshly picked peaches, during his stay at the country home of his patron Paul Berard in the small Normandy village of Wargemont in 1881.

Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Jan Havickszoon Steen (c. 1626 - 679), a Dutch Golden Age painter. Daily life was Jan Steen's main pictorial theme. The painting featured depicts a small party listening to music in a family home. In his painting Steen often used members of his family as models.

Roses from The Temple of Flora

This puzzle is based on a mezzotint printed in colors by Robert John Thornton featuring a bunch of roses within which two thrushes are nesting, in the background a temple with a statue. If you didn't know, mezzotint is a printmaking process of the intaglio family, technically a drypoint method. This technique can achieve a high level of quality and richness in the print.

Bowl Of Peaches and Grapes

Today's puzzle is based on an oil on wood painting from 1825 by the American artist John A. Woodside. The painting called "Still Life: Peaches and Grapes", depicts a bowl of peaches and some white and black grapes on a table. You can also see a half eaten peach and a pocket knife in the foreground of the painting.

The Empress Eugenie

If you didn't already know, Dona María Eugenia Ignacia Agustina de Palafox y Kirkpatrick, 19th Countess of Teba, 16th Marchioness of Ardales (5 May 1826 – 11 July 1920), known as Eugenie de Montijo, was Empress of the French from her marriage to Emperor Napoleon III. This painting of her was made in oil on canvas by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1854.

Mussel Fishers at Berneval

Another art themed puzzle is here. This new one is based on Pierre-Auguste Renoir's 1879 painting called "Pêcheuses de moules à Berneval, côte normand" (Mussel-Fishers at Berneval). Renoir painted this idyllic scene of a family gathering mussels during an 1879 visit to the Normandy coast. Marine mussels are abundant in the low and mid intertidal zone in temperate seas globally. People have used mussels as food for thousands of years. There are about 17 edible species of mussels that live in saltwater or freshwater habitats.

Figures on the Beach

Based on an oil on canvas painting by Auguste Renoir, today's puzzle depicts two female figures at the beach on a sunny summer day. The artist probably painted this scene on the Cote d'Azur in southern France. Next to the two women we can see a small white dog resting, in the distance a small child playing and in the the background some boats sailing on the calm blue waters of the sea.
