Another art themed puzzle is here. Today's jigsaw is based on a painting by Jacques-Louis David (French, 1748 - 1825). The painting is Jacques-Louis David's take on a scene for a 1699 French novel "Les Aventures de Télémaque", that is loosely based on characters from the Odyssey. In the book Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, falls passionately in love with the beautiful nymph Eucharis but his duty as a son requires that he end their romance and depart in search of his missing father. The ill-fated lovers say farewell in a grotto on Calypso's island. The entire scene is presented in this painting featured in our puzzle game.
