Today's puzzle is based on a painting by Camille Pissarro. It depicts a pitcher, a glass of wine, some apples and knife on a table. Pissarro painted few still lifes, most late in his career and this is one of them. The other comparable work by the author uses the same setting, it's the same size and it features the same floral wallpaper in the background.

Today's puzzle is based on a oil on canvas by Meindert Hobbema. The painting depicts a wooded landscape on a sunny summer day. The hot rays of the summer sun manage to break through the billowing white clouds, but the people featured in the painting (the ones of the road and path and the person fishing) are kept cool thanks to the shade provided by the dense foliage of the forest.

The Peasant Dance

This new puzzle is based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's oil-on-panel painting "The Peasant Dance". The lively peasant scene provides the viewer with a glimpse of social history, but it is likely that Bruegel intended this painting to have a moral sense rather than simply being an affectionate portrayal of peasant life. The panel, neither signed nor dated, was painted circa 1567, at about the same time as "The Peasant Wedding".

The Basket of Apples

This new puzzle is based on Paul Cezanne 1893 painting "The Basket of Apples". This painting contains one of Cezanne's signature tilted tables, an impossible rectangle with no right angles. On the table you can see a basket of apples, a bottle of wine, a folded tablecloth and a plate of cookies. The painting is particularly remarkable for its creative composition, which rejected realistic representation in favor of distorting objects to create multiple perspectives.

Skating on the Frozen River
