Today's puzzle is based on Camille Pissaro's 1872 impressionist oil on canvas painting "Still Life with Apples and Pitcher". Pissarro was a Danish-French Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist painter born on the island of St Thomas. He is the only artist to have shown his work at all eight Paris Impressionist exhibitions, from 1874 to 1886.

Just Dessert

This new puzzle is base on, William Michael Harnett's 1891 oil on canvas painting with the same name. The painting depicts a variety of foodstuffs arranged on a marble surface. We can see half a coconut, a box of Smyrna figs, a bottle of Maraschino liqueur, a copper pitcher on one side of the table, a pewter tankard on the other side, a ginger jar and some white and red grapes.

The Large Plane Trees

Another art themed puzzle is here. Also known as the "Road Menders at Saint-Remy", the painting that today's puzzle is based on depicts roadwork taking place underneath some large plane trees on a autumn day. In actuality, "The Large Pane Trees" (the one featured in this puzzle) and the "Road Menders of Saint-Remy" are two different paintings and are sometimes confused as one. Although similar, Van Gogh painted this one first on a red and white checkered table cloth and later painted it again on an actual canvas.

The Apple Market

Today's puzzle is based on an oil on canvas painting from 1880 by Stanislas Lepine (a French painter who specialized in landscapes, especially views of the Seine). In this landscape beautiful painting, Lepine depicts an apple market on the banks of the river Seine in Paris in the late 1800s. Put the pieces back together and see the people buying and selling baskets full of freshly picked apples.

Woman in the Garden

Today's puzzle is based on an oil painting begun in 1866 by French artist Claude Monet. Dressed in the fashion of the day, the lady in the painting was posed by Lecadre's wife, Monet's cousin, Paul-Eugene Lecadre. The garden was located on the Le Coteaux estate at Sainte-Adresse near Le Havre.

Distant View of Niagara Falls

Today's new puzzle is base on Thomas Cole's 1830 painting with the same name. The romanticized, autumnal scene depicted in this beautiful panting has two Native American figures at it's center and the impressive Niagara Falls in the background. If you didn't know, Thomas Cole (February 1, 1801 - February 11, 1848) was an Anglo-American painter known for his landscape and history paintings.

Wivenhoe Park

Today's puzzle is based on John Constable's oil on canvas painting called Wivenhoe Park, Essex. In the painting Constable depicts a beautiful English landscape park (style of "landscape" garden which emerged in England in the early 18th century), the estate of the Rebow family. Constable was commissioned by Major-General Francis Slater-Rebow to paint his country home, Wivenhoe Park, Essex in 1816. Born in Suffolk, John Constable s known principally for revolutionizing the genre of landscape painting.

Love of Winter

This new puzzle is based on a painting by George Bellows. He painted this colorful art piece after a major blizzard hit New York City in February 1914. The painting depicts a group of people skating on a frozen lake. On the edges of this natural ice skating rink onlookers of a wide range of ages and social classes, reflecting the diverse population of the city at that time, look on or are getting ready to join in the winter fun. Snap the Whip

Today's puzzle is based on Winslow Homer's Snap the Whip 1872 oil painting. The painting depicts a group o playing crack(snap) the whip. If you didn't know, crack the whip is a simple outdoor children's game played in small groups, either on grass or ice, usually grass. Homer spent several summers in New York's Hudson Valley, and is said to have been inspired to paint this scene by local boys playing at the Hurley schoolhouse.

A Cherry Vendor at the Door

This beautiful and fun puzzle is based on an oil on panel painting from 1816 by Abraham van Strij. It depicts a mother and her daughter buying some fresh cherries from a woman selling them door to door. In this beautiful scene of life in the 1800s you can also see the entrance to the house, some house in the background, the family's pets(a small dog and cat) and some other small details.

A String of Horses Outside an Inn

This beautiful and vibrant image of a string of horses outside an inn is based on a painting by Otto Bache, a Danish Realist painter. The scene takes place in the late 1800s in rural Denmark.
