Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir's paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated color, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions. The female nude was one of his primary subjects. A prolific artist, he created several thousand paintings. . The single largest collection of his works - 181 paintings - is at the Barnes Foundation, in Philadelphia.

This fun new puzzle is based on Edward Lamson Henry's oil on canvas painting called "Old Hook Mill, Easthampton". If you didn't know, the Hook Windmill was the last wind-powered grain mill built in East Hampton, New York. It was constructed in 1806, it operated until 1908 and it still stands today. In the painting E.L. Henry depicts the mill in the calm after a storm. At the mill's entrance several men can be seen loading sacks of flour into a horse-drawn wagon.

This puzzle is based on the painting with the same name by the French impressionist painter Claude Monet. Monet spent the summer of 1867 at the resort town of Sainte-Adresse on the English Channel, near Le Havre (France). It was there, in a garden with a view of Honfleur on the horizon, that he painted this picture. The models were probably Monet's father, Adolphe, in the foreground, Monet's cousin's wife Jeanne-Marguerite Lecadre at the fence; Adolphe, her father; and perhaps, Sophie, her sister, the woman seated with her back to the viewer. The painting is now in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Today's puzzle is based on Winslow Homer's Snap the Whip 1872 oil painting. The painting depicts a group o playing crack(snap) the whip. If you didn't know, crack the whip is a simple outdoor children's game played in small groups, either on grass or ice, usually grass. Homer spent several summers in New York's Hudson Valley, and is said to have been inspired to paint this scene by local boys playing at the Hurley schoolhouse.

Although similar, Van Gogh painted this one first on a red and white checkered table cloth and later painted it again on an actual canvas.
