On its estate there is a tree, said to be the thickest tree in the Netherlands ( "de dikke boom van Verwolde"). For 200 years, Castle Verwolde was inhabited by various generations of the same family. In summer, guided tours of this castle are organized for tourists.

Cecilienhof has been part of the Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.

The beautiful castle featured in this puzzle is situated in the commune of Pierrefonds in the Oise departement (Picardy) of France. In the 12th century, a castle was built on this site. Two centuries later, in 1392, King Charles VI turned the County of Valois (of which Pierrefonds was part) into a Duchy and gave it to his brother Louis, Duke of Orléans. From 1393 to his death in 1407, the latter had the castle rebuilt by the court architect, Jean le Noir. Napoleon I bought ruined castle in 1810 for less than 3,000 francs. During the 19th century, with the rediscovery of the architectural heritage of the Middle Ages, it became a "romantic ruin". Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (later Napoleon III of France) visited the castle in 1850. As emperor, he asked Viollet-le-Duc in 1857 to undertake its restoration.

The current building was preceded by a Gothic stronghold, rebuilt between 1560 and 1564 into a manor, which provided the foundation for the present structure. The manor is preserved in a nearly genuine early Baroque condition and it was build between 1683 and 1690.

Towering over 100 metres above the county seat of Cochem, on the peak of a hill visible from afar, is the landmark of this town. It was built as a fortress in Romanesque style after 1056. The Reichsburg Cochem had its first documentary mention in 1130. In 1151, it was occupied by King Konrad III, who declared it an Imperial castle.
