About: Today we're visiting the Utrecht University Hall (Utrecht is the fourth-largest city of the Netherlands). The former Chapter House dates back to 1462. The oldest part of the University Hall is the Auditorium where in 1579 the Treaty of Utrecht was signed (generally viewed as marking the origin of the Dutch nation). The front of the University Hall, featured in today's puzzle, was built between 1891-1894 in the Dutch Renaissance style by master builders E. Gugel and F.J. Nieuwenhuis.

Daejosajeon or Great Teacher Hall is part of Guinsa (Temple of Salvation and Kindness), in the Yeonhwa area of the Sobaek Mountains located near Danyang in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, the headquarters of the Cheontae school of Korean Buddhism. Unlike many of Korea's temples, Guinsa is fairly new, dating only back to 1945. The temple is strikingly located, squeezed into a narrow valley surrounded on all sides by mountains, and its location was decreed by head monk Sangwol Wongak's interpretation of the Lotus Sutra. The Great Teacher Hall is a shrine erected in the memory of Sangwol Wongak, a large statue of whom can be found inside.

The Chapel on the Rock (officially, Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel) is a chapel and tourist landmark in Allenspark, Colorado, USA. In 1916, Monsignor Joseph Bosetti came across a large rock formation just east of Rocky Mountain National Park and inspired by the Biblical phrase "upon this rock I will build my church", he envisioned a church built on the rock. Land for the church was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Malo and Denver architect Jacques Benedict designed the chapel, which was completed in 1936. Boulder County designated the chapel as a historic site in 1999.

St Davids Cathedral is situated in St Davids in the county of Pembrokeshire, on the most westerly point of Wales. The monastic community was founded by Saint David, Abbot of Menevia, who died in 589. In 1081, William the Conqueror visited St Davids to pray, and thus recognised it as a holy and respected place. In 1115, with the area under Norman control, King Henry I of England appointed Bishop Bernard as Bishop of St Davids. He began to improve life within the community, and commenced construction of a new cathedral. The new cathedral was quickly constructed and Bishop Bernard consecrated it in 1131. The present cathedral was begun in 1181 and completed not long after.

St. Bartholomew's Church, Berchtesgaden

Named after Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, patron of alpine farmers and dairymen, the beautiful Roman Catholic church feature in this new puzzle, is located in the Berchtesgadener Land district of Bavaria in Germany. Located on the western shore of the Königssee lake, on the Hirschau peninsula, the church is surrounded by mountains and can only be reached by ship or after a long hike on the alpine paths in the area. The current church was build in 1697 on the spot of an old chapel that was constructed several hundred years earlier (in 1134). It is built in a Baroque style with a floor plan modeled to resemble the Salzburg Cathedral, it has two onion domes and a red domed roof. An annual pilgrimage to St. Bartholomew's Church is held on the Saturday after 24 August, starting from the Austrian municipality of Maria Alm and crossing the Berchtesgaden Alps. So if you are ever in the area don't hesitate to visit this beautiful place of worship and it's' breath taking surroundings in the Bavarian Alps.

Located in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was started in 1996 by the late president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and was completed in 2007. The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has been inspired by Persian, Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture, particularly the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan and the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco being direct influences. The mosque is large enough to accommodate over 40,000 worshipers. There are four minarets on the four corners of the courtyard which rise about 107 m in height. The courtyard measures about 17,000 m2 and is considered to be the largest example of marble mosaic in the world - you can see i its floral design in today's puzzle.
