Cute Pigeons In The Park

In today's puzzle we feature two cute pigeons on a grassy meadow in the park. If you didn't know, the name pigeon comes from a French word that derives from the Latin pipio, for a "peeping" chick. Pigeons primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and plants. These birds have adapted to most of the habitats available on the planet. Various species inhabit urban and rural areas, savannas, grasslands, deserts, temperate woodlands and forests, and even remote atolls and islands in the middle of the ocean.

In today's puzzle we feature a cute cat and it's kittens. The puzzle is based on a oil on panel painting by the Dutch-Belgian artist Henriette Ronner (best known for her animal paintings; especially cats).

A St Bernard Dog

In today's puzzle we feature a painting of a cute and impressive St Bernard dog. The Saint Bernard or St. Bernard is a breed of very large dog that was originally bred for rescue work by the hospice of the Great St Bernard Pass on the Italian-Swiss borded. It's color is typically a red shade with white, or a mahogany brindle with white. The coat can be either smooth or rough; the smooth coat being close and flat, while the rough is dense, flat, and more profuse around the neck and legs. Saint Bernard dogs are calm and patient with adults, and especially children.

Lady Amherst's Pheasant

The Lady Amherst's pheasant is native to southwestern China and far northern Myanmar, but has been introduced elsewhere. These colorful are very difficult to see in their natural habitat, which is dense, dark forests with thick undergrowth. They feed on the ground on grain, leaves and invertebrates, but sleep in trees at night.

Black-headed Gull

Black-headed gulls can be found over much of Europe, some parts of Japan, east China, northeastern Canada and some Caribbean islands. They are opportunistic feeders. They eat insects, fish, seeds, worms, invertebrates, scraps. Like most gulls, it is highly gregarious. They are an overwintering species, found in a variety of different habitats.

Roseate Spoonbill

The roseate spoonbill occurs in South America mostly east of the Andes, and in coastal regions of the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and the Gulf Coast of the United States, and some parts of Florida. Like the American flamingo, their pink color is diet-derived. It feeds in shallow fresh or coastal waters by swinging its bill from side to side as it steadily walks through the water.

Cute Wood Duck

In this fun new puzzle we feature a cute wood duck. The wood duck or Carolina duck is one of the most colorful North American waterfowl. These cute and colorful ducks live in wooded swamps, lakes, ponds and creeks in the eastern United States, the west coast of the United States, some parts of southern Canada, and the west coast of Mexico. They mainly eat acorns, seeds, berries and insects they find on the ground or on the water surface.

American Bison

The beautiful bison featured in today's puzzle is part of a species of bison that once roamed North America in vast herds. It nearly became extinct in the 19th century. Today wild bison live largely in a few national parks and reserves. Bison are herbivores, grazing on the grasses and sedges of the prairies. They are migratory and herd migrations can be directional as well as altitudinal in some areas. Female bison live in maternal herds which include other females and their offspring. Males live alone or join other males in bachelor herds.

Louisiana Heron

Now known as the tricolored heron, the Louisiana heron, is a small species of heron native to coastal parts of the Americas. This species of heron breeds in swamps and other coastal habitats. Adults have a blue-grey head, neck, back, and upper wings, with a white line along the neck. Their belly is white. This puzzle is based on hand-colored engraving and aquatint on Whatman wove paper by Robert Havell after John James Audubon in the series The Birds of America.
