The hippopotamus, also called the hippo or river hippopotamus is a semiaquatic mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa. It inhabits rivers, lakes, and mangrove swamps. During the day, hippos stay cool by submerging in water. They emerge at dusk to graze.

Iberian Lynx

The Iberian lynx is a wild cat species endemic to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. The Iberian lynx prefers heterogeneous environments of open grassland mixed with dense shrubs. It preys foremost on the European rabbit for the bulk of its diet, supplemented by red-legged partridge, rodents and to a smaller degree also on wild ungulates. Unfortunately, this beautiful animal is currently is listed as endangered.

Mouflons In The Snow

In today's wildlife themed puzzle we feature two mouflons, a male and a female, resting on some snow covered rocks. The mouflon occurs in southeastern Turkey, southern Armenia, southern Azerbaijan, northern Iraq, western southern and Iran. Is a wild sheep and it is thought to be the ancestor of all modern domestic sheep breeds. The horns of mature rams are curved in almost one full revolution. Some females are horned (like the one in this puzzle), while others are polled.

If you didn't know, zebras inhabit eastern and southern Africa and can be found in a variety of habitats such as savannahs, grasslands, woodlands, shrublands and mountainous areas. There are three extant species: the Grévy's zebra (Equus grevyi), plains zebra (E. quagga) and the mountain zebra (E. zebra). Zebras are easily recognized by their bold black-and-white striping patterns. Striping patterns are unique to an individual.

Louisiana Heron

Now known as the tricolored heron, the Louisiana heron, is a small species of heron native to coastal parts of the Americas. This species of heron breeds in swamps and other coastal habitats. Adults have a blue-grey head, neck, back, and upper wings, with a white line along the neck. Their belly is white. This puzzle is based on hand-colored engraving and aquatint on Whatman wove paper by Robert Havell after John James Audubon in the series The Birds of America.

White Pekin Ducks

In today's puzzle we feature three cute pekin ducks playing around on the banks of a river. If you didn't known, the Pekin or White Pekin is a breed of domestic ducks. The Pekin is heavily feathered; the plumage is creamy white with a yellowish tinge. It has yellowish orange legs and feet. It's beak is short and also orange in color.

King Eider

The king eider spends most of the year in coastal marine ecosystems at high latitudes, and migrates to Arctic tundra to breed in June and July. It is a large sea duck, measuring 50–70 cm (20–28 in) in length with a wingspan of 86–102 cm (34–40 in). The male is unmistakable with its mostly black body, buff-tinged white breast and multicolored head. The head, nape and neck are a pale bluish grey. The cheek is pale green. The bill, separated from the face by a thin black line, is red with a white nail and a large, distinctive yellow knob. This puzzle is based on an illustration from Birds of America (1827) by John James Audubon.

Cute Brown, Black And White Goat

Another animal themed puzzle is here. In this new one we feature a cute brown, black and white goat checking out a tree for the best way it can reach it's top. Goats are naturally curious and well known for their ability to climb and balance in precarious places. They are the only ruminant to regularly climb trees. Goats are browsing animals, not grazers like cattle and sheep. They prefer to browse on the tips of woody shrubs and trees, as well as the occasional broad-leaved plants.
