It is also known in the Berber language as waddan or arwi, and in former French territories as the moufflon. Barbary sheep are found in arid mountainous areas where they graze and browse grasses and bushes.

The Iberian lynx is a wild cat species endemic to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. The Iberian lynx prefers heterogeneous environments of open grassland mixed with dense shrubs. It preys foremost on the European rabbit for the bulk of its diet, supplemented by red-legged partridge, rodents and to a smaller degree also on wild ungulates. Unfortunately, this beautiful animal is currently is listed as endangered.

Keel-Billed Toucan

Also known as sulfur-breasted toucan or rainbow-billed toucan, this colorful Latin American member of the toucan family lives in tropical jungles from southern Mexico to Colombia. The diet of keel-billed toucans consists mostly of a wide range of fruit, but may also include insects. The bill, surprisingly dexterous, allows this toucan to get at, open and eat a variety of fruit that might not otherwise be reached.

American Bison

The beautiful bison featured in today's puzzle is part of a species of bison that once roamed North America in vast herds. It nearly became extinct in the 19th century. Today wild bison live largely in a few national parks and reserves. Bison are herbivores, grazing on the grasses and sedges of the prairies. They are migratory and herd migrations can be directional as well as altitudinal in some areas. Female bison live in maternal herds which include other females and their offspring. Males live alone or join other males in bachelor herds.

Ruppell's Griffon Vulture

In this new puzzle we feature a beautiful and impressive bird of prey, the Ruppell's griffon vulture. It is native to the Sahel region and East Africa and it was named after Eduard Ruppell - a German naturalist and explorer. Ruppell's vultures are very social, roosting, nesting, and gathering to feed in large flocks. The live in grasslands, mountains, woodlands and are considered to be the highest-flying bird, with confirmed evidence of a flight at an altitude of over 11000 m (37,000 ft).

Black Terns

The black tern is a small tern generally found in or near inland water in Europe, Western Asia and North America. Their breeding habitat is freshwater marshes across most of Canada, the northern United States and much of Europe and western Asia.
