White Pekin Ducks

The Pekin is heavily feathered; the plumage is creamy white with a yellowish tinge. It has yellowish orange legs and feet. It's beak is short and also orange in color.

In today's puzzle we feature a chaffinch resting on dry tree branch. The common chaffinch or simply the chaffinch is about 14.5 cm long, with a wingspan of 24.5-28.5 cm and a weight of 18-29 g. The male is brightly colored with a blue-grey cap and rust-red underparts. The female is much duller in color, but both sexes have two contrasting white wing bars and white sides to the tail.

Pelicans also fly low over stretches of water, using a phenomenon known as ground effect to reduce drag and increase lift. This helps them save substantial amounts of energy while flying.

It lives in riverine habitats, freshwater wetlands and mangrove swamps and it feeds on molluscs, crabs and other small aquatic animals. It lives in groups of up to 15 individuals and is mostly active after dark.
