Firefighters

Firefighters

Although people have fought fires since there have been valuable things to burn, the first instance of organized professionals combating structural fires occurred in Ancient Egypt. In many countries, while most firefighters are volunteers, firefighters may also be employed as full-time workers and paid a salary. Fire fighting has some basic skills: prevention, rescue, self-preservation, preservation of property, basic first aid, and fire control. Many firefighters are sworn officers with command structures similar to the military and police. They do not have general police powers, but have specific powers of enforcement and control in fire and emergency situations.

Chamomile is also frequently added to skin cosmetics to serve as an emollient, and for its anti-inflammatory effects. The word "chamomile" derives, via French and Latin, from Greek χαμαίμηλον (khamaimēlon), i.e. "earth apple", from χαμαί (khamai) "on the ground" and μῆλον (mēlon) "apple".

Today's puzzle features a cut Shih Tzu dog.The name Shih Tzu comes from the Chinese word for "lion" because this kind of dog was bred to resemble "the lion" as depicted in traditional oriental art, such as the Chinese guardian lions. Drop ears are covered with long fur, and the heavily furred tail is carried curled over the back. The coat may be of any colour, though a blaze of white on the forehead and tip of the tail is frequently seen. The Shih Tzu is slightly longer than tall, and dogs ideally should carry themselves "with distinctly arrogant carriage". A very noticeable feature is the underbite, which is required in the breed standard.
