Nectarines have smooth skin, while peaches have fuzzy skin; genetic studies suggest nectarines are produced due to a recessive allele, whereas peaches are produced from dominant allele for fuzzy skin.

Today's new puzzle is based on Michael Peter Ancher's painting "Figures in a landscape. Blind Kristian and Tine among the dunes" from 1880. Michael Peter Ancher was born at Rutsker on the island of Bornholm. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art (Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi) in Copenhagen (1871-5), where his teachers Wilhelm Marstrand and Frederik Vermehren encouraged his interest in genre painting. His paintings are classics and he is probably one of Denmark's most popular artists.
